Smart Variations
Turn source footage into complete video ad drafts without cutting each clip by hand.
Smart Variations builds editable drafts from your project footage. Each draft combines a spoken hook, body, and call to action (CTA). You do not need to cut the clips or build a sequence first.
Create drafts
- Open Variation Builder in your project.
- Select Smart Variations, then New drafts.
- Set the source footage filters. Check how many matching sources are ready.
- Choose 5, 10, or 20 drafts.
- Choose a Variation priority.
- Set the aspect ratio and minimum duration: 15, 30, 45, or 60 seconds.
- Set Captions. Turn them off if your footage already has captions.
- Select Create 5 drafts, Create 10 drafts, or Create 20 drafts.
Sources need ready speech transcripts. Longer minimum durations can produce fewer matches.
Choose what to vary
- Balanced ranks complete scripts by script flow.
- New hooks prefers hooks that earlier drafts did not use.
- New bodies prefers bodies that earlier drafts did not use.
Parts can repeat when there are too few suitable matches. Scripts already proposed in the project are excluded.
Review the results
Select a draft to preview its video and read the script. Open it in the editor to make changes before rendering.
Sovran checks up to 200 proposed combinations. Scores measure script flow. They do not predict ad performance. A run can return fewer drafts than requested, or none if the footage cannot form a complete script.
Draft creation does not start a final render. See Rendering Ad Variations for export guidance.
Continue a run
Progress and saved drafts remain available after a page reload. Select Cancel to stop an active run. Select Resume if the run stops making progress. If a run fails, its saved drafts remain available. Start a new run to try again.
To check combinations in a sequence you build yourself, use Smart Combo Mode.
