Transcription Dictionary
Set the spelling for brand names, products, and other words in transcripts and automatic captions.
Use Dictionary to replace words that transcription often gets wrong. For example, replace “sov run” with “Sovran”. Each rule applies across your workspace.
Add a spelling rule
- Open Dictionary from the dashboard.
- Select Add rule.
- In Replace, enter the word or phrase that transcription writes.
- In With, enter the exact spelling and case you want.
- Select Save rule.
New transcripts and automatic captions use the saved rules. Workspace members can add, edit, and delete rules. Each workspace can save up to 200 rules. Each field can contain up to 120 characters.
Correct saved transcripts
An owner or admin can apply the rules to existing text.
- Select Apply to existing.
- Check the number of transcripts and automatic caption files that can change.
- Select Apply rules.
- Keep the page open while the update runs. Check the progress and any failures.
The update changes saved text without downloading or transcribing the source video again. It does not change manual captions, editor drafts, or finished videos.
Deleting a rule stops future replacements. It does not undo changes to saved text.
