Video Ad Variation Generator
Video ad variation generator tools help you turn a pool of footage into more ideas to test. Sovran Smart Variations builds editable drafts from spoken hooks, bodies, and calls to action. Choose the sources and the type of change you want, then review the scripts before you open a draft in the editor.

Choose the footage for this run
Select the source footage you want Smart Variations to use before you start a batch. Search Asset Bank filenames, such as Shorts, to find clips for the message you want to test, then use source filters when you set up the run. A focused pool gives the workflow relevant material to combine into complete spoken scripts.

Set the focus for your batch
Request 5, 10, or 20 drafts and choose new hooks, new bodies, or a balanced mix in the setup panel. Set the aspect ratio, minimum duration, and caption option before you start the run. The ready source count helps you check the available material, but a larger request does not guarantee more useful or distinct drafts.

Find useful moments in your source
Open a source asset's Insights to inspect reusable moments, including hooks, body sections, and benefits found in the footage. These notes describe the source material and help you see what it can contribute to your next ad. Use them to assess whether the source pool supports the message before you ask Smart Variations for new combinations.

Read how each draft comes together
Expand the original script and details on a saved Smart draft to inspect the words used in that version. Read the opening, main message, and ending together before you select the draft for more work. Compare the proposed scripts to check what changed, since parts can repeat when the source pool has too few suitable matches.

Check the words in the source
Open the source asset's Transcript tab when you want to read the spoken lines in their original context. This view helps you check what the footage says before you decide whether a proposed combination carries the intended message. Read the surrounding lines when a short phrase needs more context to make sense in a new ad.

Refine the saved draft on the timeline
Preview a ready draft and open it in the video editor when the script is worth taking further. Check the clip order and timing on the saved timeline, then make the changes your ad needs before rendering. Watch the complete edit so the selected shots support the words and the final action follows clearly from the message.
