Measurement

Match your campaign settings

In TikTok custom reports, select the same dates and campaign level for each comparison. You can group results by campaign, ad group, ad, or placement. [2]

Record the goal, country, placement, and conversion event. Also record the attribution window: the period in which a purchase can be credited to an ad.

  • Use the same currency and reporting dates for your spend and revenue.
  • Keep prospecting and retargeting results separate when possible.
  • Check purchase tracking before you treat a change in ROAS as a creative problem.
  • Check profit after product costs, fees, and returns before you increase spend.

Next test

Choose one thing to test

Use a gap to choose what to check. The table cannot tell you why a result is low. Check delivery and tracking, then change one part of the ad.

  • High CPM: inspect audience, placement, and auction conditions before you rewrite the ad.
  • Low CTR: test a different opening, product demonstration, or offer statement with the same destination.
  • Low CVR: check the landing page, checkout, and whether the ad promise matches the offer.
  • Low ROAS: review order value and acquisition cost together. A cheaper click alone may not improve return.

Data limits

Know what the data covers

The figures cover participating ecommerce brands. They do not cover every TikTok advertiser or predict this month. Prices, audiences, and tracking can differ within an industry.

Do not derive cost per click from the published CPM and CTR medians. They can come from different campaigns. Calculate CPC from spend and clicks in your own account.

About this report

Data sources and limits

The figures come from Triple Whale's report, updated August 20, 2026. It covers more than 5,900 brands. Sovran did not collect the campaign data.

We use the source tables. We omit year-over-year changes because the source gives conflicting percentages. It does not specify one country mix or attribution window for all brands. Check these limits before you use an unusual result, such as very low ROAS, as a target.

  • Period: August 1, 2025–July 31, 2026.
  • Industry rows: publisher-reported medians across 10 categories.
  • Overall figures come from the source, not an average of the industry rows.
  • Testing advice is Sovran's interpretation of the data.
  • Sources checked: September 29, 2026.
